An isolated community called Zaboka succeeded in mobilized to get a school in their community, where their previously was one, and a good 3-way partnership has allowed local teachers are bringing education to this remote community.

There is an area called Zaboka, which is in the mountains and incredibly isolated. The community had a school but it was crushed after a natural disaster. After this, children had to walk almost 2 hours to get to the nearest school. Many people in this community are illiterate, so they saw the importance of school and an organization called Development for the Youth of Montagne mobilized and advocated for the school to be re-opened.

The local authorities decided to take responsibility for the school, and pay local teachers. The community gave land for the school, the World Bank will be paying to construct it, and in the meantime UNICEF gave a tent so the school could re-start in 2011. Now, there are 28 children in the school, and the parents are so happy with the school they expressed that they wanted to register themselves and learn how to read and write as well. This is an example of a community regonizing and advocating for its priorities, and bringing basic services to their community with a 3-way partnership.
