Zoranger is in the commune of Jacmel, and is an agricultural community. In 2007, a group of young people from the area founded OPADBAC (Organisation of Peasants for the Development of Cap Wouj) with a vision of developing their community.
OPADBAC works in a number of different areas: because their community is an agricultural one, they use konit to help each other in their gardens, and have a tree nursery to prepare saplings for the farmers to plant in the mountains to reforest their community. They are working to capture a spring on the mountain to help provide their community with a source of water, and have volunteer cleaning committees to keep their area clean and healthy. They also work in the area of eduaction: OPADBAC has been managing a community school since 2007 (although this school has existed since the 1950s) with its members serving as professors, and have a literacy school for adults who want to learn to read and write. They recently partnered with an organisation named CROSE to develop 3 public parks with solar lamps, and they use the space to show films and have other educational events.
